In Language Arts class, we learn how to properly speak and notice mistakes in the English language. We do a packet of work every week, called SVG (Spelling, Vocabulary, and Grammar ) that gives us a list of vocabulary words. It also teaches us how to complete the worksheets that are included in the packet. We always go on to a website called Quizlet.com. It has different study guides, and we study our vocabulary words. I also have a blog on Core, so make sure to check that out and give me feedback on what you think about the different topics. My Core ( Language Arts and World History) teacher is Mrs. Baird. Click the "Mrs. Baird" button to go to her website, or click on the "Core Concentration" button to go to my Core blog.
The Big Wave Haiku - Google DrawingIn Core, we were assigned to create haiku (Japanese poetry) and then insert them into a Google Drawing and add affects. I learned how to use Google Drawing from this assignment, and how to create a haiku. This really raised my computer skills, and my language skills. Learning how to create these haiku really helped me understand the type of culture Japan has. This book, The Big Wave by Peal S. Buck, is a great book and it also shows me how some areas of Japan that lived like the book. I will use Google Drawing again, and I'm actually currently using it for a history project that will be in the Digital Portfolio soon. I definitely recommend using Google Drawing for projects that you just want to have a great visual effect.

Andalusian Poem- DesertIn Language Arts class, our assignment was to create an Andalusian poem for a subject in the book "Shabanu Daughter of the Wind". I chose the subject desert. From this assignment, I learned how to create and discribe an Andalusian poem. It also helped me with my Google Docs and poem making skills, because as you see, I did this on Google Docs, and I had to make a poem. This project helped me both with literature and computer skills. As I mentioned, I used Google Docs for this assignment, and it just helped me get even more and more familiar with using Google Docs. I still like Microsoft Word though.
